KidSport Climbing Camp
Enjoy a week of rock climbing, orienteering, paddling, fun, and games!
Three days will be dedicated to a skill-based rock climbing progression including beginning rock climbing and bouldering. Campers will learn foot technique, balance, and hand use, while climbing at the M-Rock climbing gym housed in the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) on U-M’s campus.
One day will take campers to the Nichols Arboretum for hiking and orienteering including instruction in map and compass use.
One day will take campers to Gallup Park for canoeing, with basic instruction in paddle strokes and technique, plus games and races.
Available for kids ages 8–12.
All experience levels welcome!

Drop-off/Pick-up
Campers can be dropped off at the Ruthven Museum of Natural History. From there Outdoor Adventure Staff will take them by U of M bus to the IMSB for the climbing days and by AATA bus to Gallup park for the paddling day. For the hiking and orienteering day we will walk to the Nicholas Arboretum.
Things to Remember
Please come dressed to be active both inside and outside, sneakers and a jacket. Campers must wear sneakers to climb at the M-Rock (no sandals, flip flops, or bare feet). Each participant will receive an Outdoor Adventures Nalgene water bottle. Participants should bring their own healthy snacks.
Enrollment for each session is limited to the first 15 campers.
