Recreational Sports offers services, programs, spaces and student involvement opportunities within four  indoor facilities: Intramural Sports Building, Central Campus Recreation Building, North Campus Recreation Building and the Sports Coliseum; two program facilities Outdoor Adventures at Elbel Field and Challenge Ropes Course at Radrick; and three outdoor field complexes Palmer, Mitchell and Elbel.

- Number of Participations: Total 1.2 million each year, 5,000-6,000 per day during the Academic year

- 40,000 unique individuals each year of which 31,000 are students or 76% of the student body

- Club Sports – 33 ranging from Baseball to Water Polo, 2000 Student Athletes  In 2011-12, 24 teams advanced beyond league play 23 National Champions since 1997

- Intramural Sports - 25 sports, 2300 teams, 6200 Games, 18,000 individuals

- Challenge Programs – 95 programs, 2,600 participants

- Outdoor Adventures – Rental Center, Adventure Trips, Certification Training, Climbing Wall, Bike Rental and Special Events

- Facility Rentals - over 150 different organizations each year

- Memberships - 2,100 Faculty/Staff, 440 Alumni, 400 Sponsored Adults and 200 Dependents and Children

- Over 600 students work for the Department in varying capacities from Lifeguards to Intramural officials

- $4.3mil annual operating budget, sources $1.6 General Fund, $2.7 Self- Generated
