Peszek (L) and Stafford Celebrate After Qualifying (photo credit to Yahoo News)

The 2012 Olympics set to take place in London are just around the corner. Just yesterday, a previous member of the University of Michigan Men's Rowing team qualified to row in the pair event in the upcoming games.

Tom Peszek, a club athlete who graduated in 2007, raced on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, NJ for the chance to represent the United States alongside Stanford Alumni Silas Stafford. Their first place finish in the Grand Final for Men's Pair means they will be traveling as part of the US Olympic Rowing team to London at the end of July.

Be sure to show your support for the pair as they go for the gold.
