The Synchronized Swimming Team aims to be a nationally competitive team focused on encouraging swimmers to grow as athletes and individuals. We promote teamwork, love of sport, and create an environment of sportsmanlike conduct for all levels of competition and ability. Our training season is composed of three distinct programs: pre-season, pre-competitive and competitive. The U-M Synchro actively recruits individuals of all levels of ability, including beginners with no prior experience.
The U-M Synchro Competition Team competes in a number of home and away meets each season through the USA Synchronized Swimming organization. Competitive opportunities include figure-only and routine-only meets; dual meets, tri-meets, and/or invitationals with colleges across the country; Collegiate Regionals and Collegiate Nationals held in mid March. The competitive season generally starts in December with a figure-only meet and culminates at Collegiate Nationals.
