Intramural Sports

Get out there and have some fun! You can form a team and join an intramural league with weekly matches. Or, if you don’t want to commit to a season of play, you can opt to participate in our tournaments. In any case, intramurals are an opportunity to get active, have fun and meet some like-minded friends. Want to play, but can’t find a team? You can join as a Free Agent.

Fall A
Registration opens 9/6/23

Dates (updated on 8/30/23):

  • Registration: September 6 at 10:00 am – September 13 at 4:00 pm
  • Regular Season:  September 17-October 5
  • Playoffs: October 8-25

  • Kickball (6v6) at Mitchell Field
  • Sand Volleyball (4v4) at Mitchell Field
  • Yard Games (2v2) at Mitchell Field
  • Pickleball (1v1 & 2v2) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Gym
  • Extreme Dodgeball (4v4) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Racquetball Courts
Fall X
Registration opens 9/6/23

Dates:

  • Registration: September 6 at 10:00 am – September 13 at 4:00 pm
  • Regular Season:  September 17-October 26
  • Playoffs: October 29-November 21

  • Flag Football (7v7 open; 8v8 co-rec) at Mitchell Field
  • Outdoor Soccer (9v9) at Mitchell Field
  • Ultimate Frisbee at Mitchell Field (7v7, self-officiated)
Gaming
Registration opens 9/6/23

  • Registration: September 6 at 10:00 am – September 13 at 4:00 pm

Fall B
Registration opens 10/18/23

Dates:

  • Registration: October 18 at 10:00 am – October 25 at 4:00 pm
  • Regular Season:  October 29-November 16
  • Playoffs: November 19-December 6

Available Sports (self-officiated):

  • Basketball (3v3) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Gym
  • Wallyball (4v4) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Racquetball Courts
  • Pickleball (1v1 & 2v2) at the Sports Coliseum
  • Wheelchair Basketball (3v3) at the Sports Coliseum
  • Table Tennis (1v1) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) Game Lounge

To participate in Intramural Sports, you must first purchase an Intramural Sports Pass.

  • Semester pass ($60) – play any sport during any season for the entire semester
  • A season pass ($20) – 3 games scheduled during the 3 week regular season + playoffs, self-officiated sports
  • X season pass ($30) – 4 games scheduled during the 5/6 week regular season + playoffs, mostly officiated sports
  • Gaming pass (FREE) – 4 games scheduled during the 5 week regular season + playoffs, flexible scheduling options
  • B season pass ($20) – 3 games scheduled during the 3 week regular season + playoffs, self-officiated sports

All paid passes are available on our webstore and must be purchased before you can register for a sport or team. Those interested in Intramural Gaming can go directly to Fusion Play during the registration period.


Fusion Play

NEW FOR FALL 2023 – registration is only available on the Fusion Play app, available in the App Store or Google Play Store.

The app is now available to download and sign in using UM credentials, and schedules for Fall A, Fall X and Gaming seasons are available to view.

Free Agents

Looking for a team to play with? Need more players to fill your team?

Free Agent status is identified as participants who do not already have a team but want to join one.

Free Agents – log in to Fusion Play, find the sports and leagues you are interested in joining, and add yourself to the Free Agent list. Also, check out Fusion Play for Free Agent teams that individuals can join.

  • Sand Volleyball: Co-rec Comp Monday 6:00 pm, Co-rec Rec Tuesday 7:30 pm
  • Flag Football: Men’s Rec Sunday 4:30 pm, Co-rec Rec Wednesday 6:30 pm
  • Soccer: Men’s Rec Tuesday 9:30 pm

Team Captains – search through Free Agent lists to find more teammates after your team is registered.

Policies and Rules

All Intramural Participants are expected to read and abide by the
Intramural Sports Policies and Sport Rules.

The purpose of the Policies and Rules is to ensure an equitable and enjoyable experience is possible for all participants and staff members. Explanation of the SRS point system is outlined in the Policy Manual.

Become an Official

Referee games and contests AND help maintain a fun, safe experience for students! As a Rec Sports official, you get to work with a supportive community and enjoy perks like:

  • Paid training.
  • Competitive wages ($15-16/hour).

  • Officiate a variety of sports, including flag football, basketball, indoor soccer, and more.
