Outdoor Adventures

Our First Ascent Program is designed to provide incoming freshmen with an opportunity to travel and interact with future classmates through the exploration of a variety of natural areas. Our trips are intended to be a venue for students to continue through with their orientation experience and begin to develop a strong support group amongst their peers at the University. Our trip leaders will help facilitate group discussions and answer questions about the transition to college in a way that you weren’t able to during your on campus experience.  There is something special about spending time with a group in the wilderness, and these environments encourage students to take responsibility for their own actions while also relying on their fellow classmates. Past participants tell us they experience growth in their self-esteem, self-awareness, self-reliance, confidence and responsibility. We cannot forget that a central aim of this trip, as with all our trips, is to have fun! 

University of Michigan will be accepting bike donations during move-out. Please consider donating your bike, if you don't want to ship or store it. The bike will be used to support bike programs on campus. Make sure you see a staff member so we can record the bike as a donation. The staff will be able to provide you (or your parents) with a donation receipt (maximum value of $500).

Bring your bike to the NCRB, CCRB, or Outdoor Adventures (at Elbel Field, 336 Hill St.) during the following dates and times:

NCRB: April 22 - May 3, 10a-7p

CCRB: April 22 - May 3, 10a-7p

Outdoor Adventures: April 22 - 26, April 29 - May 3,  Monday-Friday, 12p-6p

As of Sunday 2/24/13, MRock semester passes will be discounted for the remainder of the Winter Semester!

Passes are normally $65 but will be marked at $40!

Outdoor Adventures will be offering two different wilderness medicine courses this semester.  

Wilderness First Responder: May 4-8 $575 (before April 19) $626 after
