The Michigan Rifle Team topped all other collegiate Rifle programs in the American Smallbore Shooting Association, to earn the title of Overall Team Champions!
Michigan was one of 12 universities who sent 68 competitors to Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete. Overall Team Champion title goes to the team with the highest team score. The .22 competition includes three position rifle shooting from the kneeling, prone and standing positions. The air rifle competition is fired from 10 meters away, in a standing position.
Leo Veatch, Mikita Vasilchuk, Sirui Wang, Annie He, and Yichen Wang earned second place in the Smallbore competition; Sirui Wang, Mikita Vasilchuk, Leo Veatch, Annie He, and Lauren Haines earned first place in the Air Rifle competition. The two teams combined for a score of 4535-180x to take first place, with the University of Akron and North Dakota State University coming in second and third, respectively.
