Indoor Facilities

Palmer Field Temporary Facility

Located just minutes from the Diag, the domed Palmer Field Temporary Facility is your place to keep up with your fitness and well-being goals while the new Hadley Family Recreation and Well-Being Center is under construction. Contact us at 734-763-9957.

Intramural Sports Building

Located on East Hoover Avenue, the newly renovated IMSB has state-of-the-art equipment and amenities. Come here and enjoy the ultimate workout.

North Campus Recreation Building

Located at the corner of Hubbard and Murfin Avenues near Bursley Hall and Northwood apartments, the NCRB features everything you need in a fitness facility.

Sports Coliseum

Located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Hill Street, the Sports Coliseum is a multipurpose, 36,000 square foot facility that is used by our Intramural Sports and Club Sports teams. It is also available for rental.

Adventure Leadership Rental Center

Located on S. Fifth Avenue on Central Campus, the Rental Center offers inspected and dependable equipment including camping tents, bikes, yard games and more!

Canham Natatorium

Please note: Lap swim at Canham Natatorium will be from 12 noon – 1:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Located on Hoover Ave next to the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB) on the South Athletic Campus, Canham Natatorium is the home of the Michigan swimming and diving and women's water polo teams. It is now offering limited availability to our students and members while the new Central Campus Recreation Building is under construction.

Hadley Family Recreation & Well-Being Center

Opening fall of 2025, the new Hadley Family Recreation & Well-Being Center will be the largest recreational facility on campus and enable greater access and opportunity for students, faculty and staff to reach their fitness and well-being goals.  

The 216,000 square foot recreation and well-being facility will include:

• Strength & cardio equipment • Climbing & bouldering walls • Aquatics center with lap pool, recreation pool and recovery pool • Sauna and steam rooms • Gymnasium courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickleball and more • Functional fitness • Group exercise/multi-purpose rooms • Mind-body studio • Jogging/walking track • Turf court • Cycling studio • Personal training suites • Dedicated racquetball and squash courts • Men’s, women’s and inclusive locker rooms • Lounge areas • Event space • And so much more!


Outdoor Facilities

Hubbard Road Recreation Fields

Located on Hubbard Road on North Campus, Hubbard Road Recreation Fields feature two synthetic turf fields and is a great place to drop by and enjoy a range of activities.     

Mitchell Field

Located on Fuller Road between the U-M hospital and North Campus, Mitchell Field features sand volleyball courts, grass and turf fields and is home to many of our Club Sports and Intramural games. It is also available for rental.

Palmer Field

Located adjacent to the site of the new Hadley Family Recreation and Well-Being Center, Palmer Field is the place to drop by and enjoy a range of activities. It is available for rental.

Adventure Education Center at Radrick Property

Located in a beautiful wooded setting just minutes from Central Campus on N Dixboro Rd, the Adventure Education Center at Radrick Property is home to our team-building Adventure Leadership Team program. It is an ideal place for group outings, conferences and retreats featuring a 3,100 sq. ft. indoor meeting room and outdoor picnic area. The facility can also be rented for picnics, reunions, birthday parties, and more.

Baits Tennis Courts

Located at the corner of Hubbard Road and Baits Drive on North Campus, Baits Tennis Courts feature two tennis courts that can also be used for pickleball.
